TOTE IT, DON'T THROW IT
Tote it, Don't Throw it is an initiative in cooperation with Queens Solid Waste Advisory Board of New York via a Reduce, Reuse, Repair grant awarded by the Citizens Committee. As a participant, I've created a tutorial and instructed a correlating workshop on repurposing worn-out garments/textiles into a tote. The project is multi-functional in providing a rewarding, methodical activity that teaches skill-set, recycles clothing/textile into a usable tote and contributes to combating plastic bag waste. The tutorial can be used personally, in sewing circles or to instruct groups within your community.
